Parable: The Great Test
All the five sons of Jamadagni and Renuka were great maternal and paternal devotees. He followed the orders of his parents. Respecting that order. His word is considered to be the key. But, he never dreamed that his father would command him like that. Renuka-Jamadagni's wife was a great Pativrata. She used to go to the river every day, prepare a pitcher of sand there and bring water in that pitcher for the worship of Jamadagni.
But what happened one day! Sati Renuka went to the river bank. As she was making a pitcher of sand on the bank as usual, she saw a Gandharva named Chitrarath playing water sports with his beloved in the river bed…. And…. Renuka's mind was momentarily distracted by the scene. She tried hard to cover her mind…. But hey…. Her restless mind will not be calmed and settled. And the result was that the pitcher of sand was not made by her hands.
Ghagar Banena and her feet returned to the Ashram with some water. At that time, Sati Renuka prayed to Suryanarayana saying, “O God, remove this instability of my mind. Let me go back to the ashram quickly with water. Otherwise I will have to face the wrath of Jamadagni. help me God, help me.” Sadhvi Renuke made such an earnest request to Suryanarayana.
And finally her efforts were successful. became a pitcher. She quickly filled it with water and hurried towards the ashram in the tank. Today, Jamadagni began to search for the reason why Renuka did not return on time for the worship. Then they came to know that the reason for the delay was Renuka's distracted mind, the frequently breaking pitcher, the delay in bringing water, and Jamadagni's anger was unleashed.
Then they saw Renuka entering the ashram. He immediately shouted, “Stop! Molecules stop! Hey, you're malevolent! Yet should your mind become unsettled by the sight of that Gandharva's water sport? Should the thought of that Chitraratha come to your mind? Wait, don't take a step forward. Do not desecrate this holy place of ashram.' From that, Sati for Renuka was the command of the real husband-God, it was never possible for her to break it.
She did not have that much courage. She stood there with her head down, trembling. An enraged Jamadagni called all his five sons. Joto came running forward with Pitruagya…. But…. “I command your father Jamadagni that your mother Renuka is sinful, wicked. Give her the death penalty. Cut off her head...' After hearing this strict command of the father... but who will take the sin of matricide by obeying that command? All four boys expressed their silent helplessness.
All four of them took four steps back, bowing their heads. The youngest son Parashuram lived! “Parasurama, go ahead and behead your mother.” Heard that stern command of his father, but for a moment his body also started to cut. Parashurama knew in his heart that his mother was pure, spotless, virtuous. He also knew Jamadagni's love for Renuka Mata. But now, that prudent son knew how to calm the inevitable anger of his father at this moment. And so he went on patiently. He bowed his head and bowed first to his mother.
One day he looked back at his father, closed his eyes and …. That horrible sight in front, the blow of the weapon…. The mother's head is broken. Blood splattered on the body…. The dowry of maternal separation stuck around the neck of all four siblings- his heart breaking for his mother... Parashuram felt this very well. But he did not have the courage to see the truth with open eyes. At that time, Jamadagni himself came forward to praise this son who followed his father's order exactly.
He said, embracing the obedient son with love and admiration. “Blessed Parashurama! you are blessed Baby, you didn't hesitate to raise your arms on the actual birth mother to obey your father's order! Indeed you are the best. I am very pleased with you. Ask for what you want; I will give it.” Since then, Parashuram demanded from his father that, “Tat, if you are going to give me something; So let me revive my mother Renuka. Free me from matricide.”
Hearing that demand of Bal Parasurama, however…. A pleased Jamadagni told Renuka | He revived the unconscious body with his mantra power. Renuka saluted her husband Jamadagni. Maya held her sons close. Parashurama was standing far away with his neck down like a criminal. Taking him close, Renuka said, “Baby! Oh, I'm not mad at you at all. You only obeyed your father's orders!” Parashurama held his mother's feet. She took him to her stomach. This story of a maternal devotee who faced an extraordinary test was recorded in the Skanda Purana.
