Proud peacock
There was a peacock. He was very proud. He was very proud of his appearance. He used to go to the river bank every day. Seeing his own reflection in the water, he used to praise his own beauty.
The peacock used to say, "Look at my beautiful plumage! Look at the lovely colors on those feathers!! Look at me! I am the most beautiful bird in the world."
One day Mora saw a crayfish on the river bank. The peacock turned its face to look at him. And scornfully said to the cuckoo, "How colorless you are! Your wings are white streaked and dull."
Karkocha said, "My friend, your feathers are certainly beautiful. My wings are not as beautiful as yours. But what is the matter? You cannot fly high with your wings. But I can fly high in the sky with my wings." The peacock, however, looked at him shyly.
Moral: Utility is more important than ostentatious beauty.
